Lebanon – Security situation and disruption of postal operations

Share to:

LibanPost informs that, as of 2 March 2026, Lebanon entered a state of war following a significant deterioration in the security situation. Air strikes affecting Lebanese territory have caused extensive damage and civilian casualties.

Consequently, there have been many flight cancellations and road closures (especially in the south of Lebanon, as well as in some locations in the centre of the country and Beirut). Additionally, security restrictions affect the opening of certain post office branches and access to sensitive and closed areas, which will negatively affect LibanPost’s performance and service-level. The scope of the impact is yet to be determined.

LibanPost wishes to emphasise that it is doing its utmost to maintain its service levels, although the situation is difficult and the consequences are unclear at this stage.
