CTT Correios de Portugal has advised that Menzies, which provides ground handling services, has announced another series of strikes.
The strikes may have a significant impact on airmail handling operations, particularly the dispatch and receipt of international items. The disruption may also affect shipments to and from the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.
The strikes will be held according to the following schedule, from 00.00 to 24.00 in each case:
* September: 3–9, 12–15, 19–22 and 26–28
* October: 3–6, 10–13, 17–20, 24–27 and 31–3 November
* November: 7–10, 14–17, 21–24 and 28–1 December
* December: 5–8, 12–15 and 19–2 January 2026
The strike initially scheduled from 00.00 on 29 August to 24.00 on 1 September has been cancelled.
