Philippines – Earthquake update

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has provided an update on the seismic events that occurred in Cebu and Davao and the surrounding provinces.

On 30 September 2025, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake was recorded, followed by a total of 722 aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 1.4 to 4.8. Preliminary assessments indicate damage to infrastructure and buildings in Cebu Province. Fatalities and injuries have been reported.

On 10 October 2025, a major earthquake of magnitude 7.4 rocked Davao Oriental and surrounding provinces. A total of 299 aftershocks were recorded that day, with magnitudes ranging from 1.2 to 5.8.

The resulting infrastructure damage is causing disruptions in postal services in the affected areas.
