Custom Declaration

The declaration of your shipment details is mandatory for international security and to facilitate customs clearance at the destination country. This is a global requirement for all postal operators, including SingPost, to collect postal data electronically. Packages or parcels without proper and accurate declaration will result in delays, or may be returned to the sender without refund.

Which services require a customs declaration?

You must complete a declaration for all international shipments sent via:

  • Basic Package (International)
  • Speedpost (International)

Do I need to provide a commercial invoice?

Yes, if the value of your parcel's contents is over $700, you are required to attach a commercial invoice. This is necessary for the destination country's GST and/or duty assessment. All prices stated are in Singapore Dollars.

Are there any restrictions on what I can send?

Yes. To ensure safety and customs compliance, certain items are restricted. Every country also has its own list of prohibited items. It is the sender's responsibility to check these regulations before sending. For a complete guide, please refer to our General Prohibited & Dangerous Goods guide and refer to Overseas Mail Services Guide for country-specific restrictions.
