Mail Redirection
Mail Redirection is a service that ensures you continue receiving your mail and not miss any important documents when you relocate. It helps to manage your mail by redirecting it to your new address.
How do I apply for the service?
You can apply for Mail Redirection at any Post Office. Simply complete your details in the application form here and make a payment via cash, NETS or credit card.
Document(s) to bring along with your application form (For residential applications):
- Applicant’s National Registration Identity Card (NRIC)
- Photocopies of the National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) of all additional applicant(s), signed by each individual applicant for consent
- For applicants below 18 years old, signatory consent can be given on behalf by their parent(s) or legal guardian.
Document(s) to bring along with your application form (For business applications):
- Business Registration Certificate (ACRA)
- Authorization letter bearing entity’s name and rubber stamp, duly signed by any manager, director, or partner of the entity.
How do I extend the period for the service?
You may extend the service at any Post Offices or via SAM online or SingPost mobile app via the bill payment function, ‘Pay With SAM’.
Is there any limit on the duration for the service?
The maximum duration of the service is 6 months at any one time. Subsequent request for
extension will be considered as renewal of the service on a monthly basis and the fees for each
subsequent months shall apply. However, a minimum of 1 month’s fee is payable even if the required period of service is less than 1 month.
What is the maximum number of applicants that can be applied under one application?
Up to 6 applicants for Residential or 3 associated companies for Business, bearing the same matching names and address under one application. A separate application is required should the service be required for multiple units (with different unit numbers) on the same floor of a building.
You can request an early termination by providing written notice at least seven working days in advance. The termination notice can be by email to g-pobox@singpost.com.
Any fees paid for the remaining calendar month after effective date of termination will be refunded, subject to administrative fee of $10.90 (inclusive of prevailing GST).
Are there any exceptions where redirection is not allowed?
Application for redirection of mail CANNOT be accepted in any or all the following circumstances:
- The mailing address is not an official address approved by IRAS and without an allocated 6-digit postal code.
- Mail addressed to clubs, hotels, boarding houses, or lodgings or where mail is delivered to a central point or to a box used for the receipt of mail addressed to several tenants in the same premises, such as a ‘multi-dwellers’ residential premises, sub-tenants, sub-agents, or address used for corporate secretariat service etc.
- Buildings which are demolished, in the course of being redeveloped or in any state which makes distribution to such buildings impractical or impossible.
- Mail addressed to only an entire building without specifying official subdivided units.
- Mail care of (ie. c/o) another person at a private residential premises.
- Mail that is not posted through SingPost.
- Mail items sent by Speedpost Islandwide Courier Service.
- Mail sent via incoming Express Mail Service (EMS).
- Mail that is posted to a PRIVY address.
