For international deliveries, a customs declaration form must be completed accurately to ensure smooth clearance. SingPost provides guidance on documentation to help businesses comply with destination country regulations, minimising the risk of delays.

What should customers prepare before visiting the post office?

To ensure a smooth and efficient process, please have the following ready at the post office:

  1. Item(s) for shipment – all items will be repacked into the standard envelope or box for compliance
  2. Country of origin – mandatory requirement for US customs clearance
  3. HS (Harmonised System) Code – mandatory requirement to state the 10-digit product classification; You can find your product’s HS code at https://hts.usitc.gov/  
  4. Recipient details – full name, address, and contact number in the United States.

What if my parcel exceeds 2kg or is valued above US$100?

For heavier or higher-value shipments, we recommend that customers should use Speedpost Express International, a premium express service that delivers to the US within 3–6 days. By comparison, Speedpost Direct International offers a more economical option with delivery within 8 working days.

Businesses, SMEs, and marketplace sellers with frequent or larger shipping needs are recommended to open a corporate Speedpost Direct International account. Corporate customers enjoy:
