Singapore and Russia jointly issue stamps to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations

SINGAPORE, 1 June 2018 – Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) today released a joint stamp issue by Singapore and Russia, commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The stamps were unveiled this morning at the General Post Office by H.E. Mr Andrey Tatarinov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Singapore, and Ms Aileen Chia, Director-General (Telecoms & Post) and Deputy Chief Executive (Policy, Regulation & Competition Development), Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore.

The joint issue by SingPost and RusMarka features the top city parks of both countries, whose futuristic and sustainable architecture have made them national icons: Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay and Moscow’s Zaryadye Park.

Situated in the heart of Singapore’s Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay is a national garden and premier horticultural attraction that showcases plants from all around the world, including species from cool, temperate climates to tropical forests and habitats.

The joint issue stamps are valued each at $1.30. Pre-cancelled First Day Covers affixed with both stamps or with a Miniature Sheet are available at $4.05 each.

The stamps and Miniature Sheets will go on sale from 1 June 2018 at all post offices, the Philatelic Store @ GPO, and the Singapore Philatelic Museum. First Day Covers and Presentation Packs will be available only at General Post Office, the Philatelic Store @ GPO, Tanjong Pagar Post Office, Ion Orchard Post Office, Jurong Point Post Office and Woodlands Post Office. All products may also be purchased online at shop.singpost.com.
