Date of Issue: 5 June 2015

Singapore, 18 May 2015 - The year 2015 is significant. It marks 50 years of Singapore's independence as well as 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and France. To commemorate these milestones and celebrate the rich arts, culture and heritage of Singapore, Institut français, the National Heritage Board, Singapore and the National Arts Council, Singapore present Singapour en France - le festival (Singapore Festival in France).

From 26 March to 30 June 2015, Singapour en France will showcase the best in Singapore's contemporary art and culture in various French cities.

As part of the Festival, Singapore Post and Groupe La Poste will jointly release this beautiful stamp issue entitled "Street Art". It will unveiled by President of Singapore, Dr Tony Tan and President of France, François Hollande at France. It is also the second joint stamp issue between the two countries.

The joint stamp issue comprises two stamps. The 1st Local stamp, designed by Sophie Beaujard from France, features an iconic landmark in France -- Eiffel Tower. The other stamp valued at S$2 depicts Merlion which is Singapore's iconic mascot and is designed by Ivory Seah from Singapore. Both artists gave a vibrant, youthful interpretation of a well-loved monument in each country.

The Street Art stamp issue and related products will be available from 5 June 2015 at all post offices and the Singapore Philatelic Museum. They can also be purchased online at www.stampdelight.com.
