United States Postal Service has updated that the resumption of mail service is progressing across Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. As mail arrives from the US mainland and is transported and processed across the islands, postal employees are out in full force providing customers with mail and retail services in postal facilities that have not been significantly damaged by Hurricane Maria. Where offices are damaged, nearby locations have been designated for customers to pick up mail. Carriers have begun to deliver where it is safe to do so.
Vanuatu Post has advised that following the eruption of Manaro volcano, all postal services on the island of Ambae have been suspended.
Servicio Postal Mexicano has updated that postal operations have resumed for inbound and outbound mail at Mexico City International Airport.
Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos has advised that delivery operations have been affected in some regions of the country since 20 September 2017 due to a strike. Service delays are expected.
The Dominica Postal Service has advised that all postal services have been suspended in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
