Exceptionally, parcels containing articles for personal use (gift parcels) or books and periodicals (excluding phonograph records, recording tapes and slides) valued at not more than US$200 may be imported without the production of the foreign exchange certificates. However, the importation of books and periodicals in foreign languages is subject to the production of permits issued by the Ministry of Interior (Taiwan). |
| Gift Parcels | Parcels containing various petty gifts of insignificant value totalling not more than NT$2,000 may be passed free of import duty. |
| Invoices | A copy of the relative invoice with a detailed description of the contents should be enclosed in each commercial parcel. |

In accordance with national legislation on the quality and security of foodstuffs, it is prohibited to import into Turkmenistan foodstuffs, products, materials and other articles in the following cases:

Inherited goods originating from abroad are allowed into Turkmenistan, free of Customs duty, if certificates are received from foreign consulate as regards the right of inheritance and the composition of the legacy. Documents issued by foreign authorities or public bodies should be stamped by a consul of Turkmenistan. Articles or parts of articles sent to Turkmenistan for repairs or replacement are admitted free of Customs duty, if a written declaration from the sender is inserted in the parcel. |
