JAMAICA

LETTER POST

Customs Declarations Value up to $700 - Green Label (CN22);

Value over $700 - Parcel Despatch Note in addition to upper part of Green Label.

Restrictions See under PARCEL POST.
Address The addressee’s name and address must be legible and complete.

In addition to the above, the addressee’s telephone, mobile and fax number, as well as e-mail address if available are to be indicated on registered items.

Prohibitions
    • Letters in parcels, except one for the addressee.
    • Bees and appliances for bee-keeping.
    • Charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters are admitted).
    • Cotton and parts of cotton plants.
    • Cocoa and products.
    • Coffee and products.
    • Condensed milk.
    • Cornmeal.
    • Edible oils.
    • Electronic items (unless items are sent in the manufacturer's packaging).
    • Honey and beeswax.
    • Meats.
    • Mobile phones (unless the phones are sent in the manufacturer's packaging).
    • Sugar.
Restrictions Restrictions apply to the importation of serums and vaccines. The importation of certain articles is subject to the production of an import permit.
Address The addressee’s name and address must be legible and complete.

In addition to the above, the addressee’s telephone, mobile and fax number, as well as e-mail address if available are to be indicated on the parcels.


 

JAPAN

LETTER POST
Supplementary Services Available (1) Dutiable goods admitted in the letter post. (2) Insured letters, air and surface limit $4,500.     (3) Printed papers.   (4) Small Packet.   (5) Registration. (6) Blind literature. (7) Express generally within 4 km from delivery office.
Customs Declarations

 Value up to $700 - Green Label (CN22);

Value over $700 - Parcel Despatch Note in addition to upper part of Green Label.

Items containing merchandise or samples and/or whose contents are valued at more than 200,000 Yen (JPY), should also be accompanied by two copies of the relevant invoices in order to expedite customs clearance.

Address If addressed in Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Russian it must bear an interlined translation in English of the post town island and country of destination. The postal code number, if known, should appear in the address on all postal items e.g.

Items containing merchandise or samples, and/or whose contects are valued at more than 200,000 Yen (JPY) should also be accompanied by two copies of the relevant invoices in order to expedite customs clearance.
Prohibitions Fresh fruits of citrus, wampi, loquat, plum, peach, pomegranate, fig, papaya, longan, litchi, carabola, guava, avocado, rambutan, betel nut, santol, tomato and plants of egg-plant, breadfruit, jackfruit, star apple, rose apple, java-apple, mangosteen, capsicum and mature banana; live vines, leaves and fresh fruits of cucumber, watermelon, muskmelon and pumpkin; coca and coca leaf; counterfeit, defaced or imitation currency bills and coins, banknotes and securities; stamping implements producing the seals or marks resembling stamp tax seals; articles for opium smoking; articles prejudicial to public order or morality e.g. films, books, pictures, video tapes, card, paintings by hand, engravings and sculptures; articles which violate rights to patents, registered patterns, designs, trademarks, copyrights and neighbouring rights, handguns, firearmsm ammunition, weapons; narcotics.
Restrictions Animal products can only be imported into Japan when they are accompanied by Certificates of inspection or copies of them, made up by the competent authorities of the country of origin and testifying that they do not give rise to any fear concerning the spreading of infectious diseases of domestic animals; products made from Indian hemp may be imported by experimenters registered with the competent authority and holding a permit from the Minister of Health and Welfare; salt; explosives, yellow phosphorous matches;, imitation handguns and other imitation firearms, swords may be imported if addressed to persons in receipt of a permission from the competent authorities for possession of the said weapons; postage stamps from which the postmark has been removed (may be imported if not intended for use).
Import Licences The importation of parcels containing merchandise is subject to the production of an import licence by the addressee.

Sealing

 Insured parcels may be sealed by adhesive tape covering each seam of the wrapping material. Each strip of adhesive tape must bear the private stamp or signature of the sender, at the time of posting. The adhesive tape to be used should be of good quality and not ordinary scotch-tape.


 

JORDAN (Hashemite Kingdom of)

Restrictions Restrictions apply to the importation of plants.

Customs Declarations Parcel Despatch Note.
Prohibitions Letters, except those exchanged between the sender and the addressee of the parcel or persons residing with them; bank-notes and currency notes.
Restrictions Restrictions apply to the importation of alcoholic liquors and plants.

The importation of all goods is normally subject to the production of an import licence.
Packing Parcels must be strongly packed.
