| Restrictions | Animal products can only be imported into Japan when they are accompanied by Certificates of inspection or copies of them, made up by the competent authorities of the country of origin and testifying that they do not give rise to any fear concerning the spreading of infectious diseases of domestic animals; products made from Indian hemp may be imported by experimenters registered with the competent authority and holding a permit from the Minister of Health and Welfare; salt; explosives, yellow phosphorous matches;, imitation handguns and other imitation firearms, swords may be imported if addressed to persons in receipt of a permission from the competent authorities for possession of the said weapons; postage stamps from which the postmark has been removed (may be imported if not intended for use). |

| Sealing |
Insured parcels may be sealed by adhesive tape covering each seam of the wrapping material. Each strip of adhesive tape must bear the private stamp or signature of the sender, at the time of posting. The adhesive tape to be used should be of good quality and not ordinary scotch-tape. |
