Prohibitions1 Coin, counterfeit, imitation or foreign; fake articles in contravention of United Kingdom patents or trademarks ordinance; obscene video cassettes, films and magazines; fictitious stamps.
Restrictions1 Arms and ammunition, flick knives, explosives and fireworks; coin operated gambling machines; controlled drugs; extracts, essence or other concentrations of tobacco; goods made from protected species including fur skins, ivory and reptile leather; meat and meat products, including eggs; plants, fruit, vegetables, seeds and other plant products.
Delivery In Stanley, parcels are not delivered to the place of address; addressees are notified of the arrival of parcels and are advised to collect them from the post office. In other areas of the Falkland Islands delivery is effected to the place of address.

Restrictions1 Restrictions apply to the importation of agricultural produce; boots and shoes; medicines; spirits. Butane gas lighters and refills.
Invoices An invoice or, in the case of non-commercial parcels, a statement prepared by the sender giving particulars of the nature, quantity and value of the contents must be forwarded with each parcel, attached to the relative despatch note.

Customs Declarations Parcel Despatch Note.
Prohibitions1 Explosive and inflammable liquids and solids. Other dangerous substances, such as compressed gas, corrosive liquids, toxic or radioactive materials, as well as any other substances that could endanger human life or cause damage.
Restrictions1 Any acceptable liquids such as food oil, hair lotions etc. must be packed in strong boxes containing wool, straw or other absorbent packing round the bottles, the packing should be in sufficient quantity to absorb the whole of the contents in the event of breakage of the container. Sharp objects may be transmitted through the posts provided the edges and points are carefully covered.
Customs Duty Articles other than tobacco and spirits, for the personal use of the addressee, are admitted free of duty when the amount of the duty would not exceed $1.50 Fijian.
Invoices Parcels containing articles for trade must be accompanied by a certified invoice (original or copy) written in French or English. This invoice must be attached to the customs declaration and must not be enclosed in the parcel.

PARCEL POST (Air Parcel Only)

Prohibitions1 Letters, except those exchanged between the sender and the addressee of the parcel or persons residing with them. Alcohol unless addressed to the alcohol monopoly board (OY ALKO AB). Items containing products with only a low alcoholic content (methylated alcohol) such as perfumes, lotion, etc are permitted.
Restrictions1 Restrictions apply to the importation of Almanacs and calendars in the Finnish or Swedish languages; medicines; seeds; unmanufactured tobacco; wines; spirits. Import licences are required for some goods.
Certificates of Origin or Import Licences Certificates of origin or import permits are required for certain types of goods. Where a certificate of origin or an invoice bearing the origin declaration is provided this should be stated on the customs declaration and all documents should be handed to the post office with parcel.
Gift Parcels Customs and other charges are payable on gift parcels. If the total value of parcel exceeds 500 finnish marks the minimum charge payable is 20 Finnish marks.

Prohibitions1 Charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters are admitted but there should be an appropriate indication of the contents on the cover of the packet); plants.
Restrictions1 Restrictions apply to the importation of medicines, tobacco products, serums (including insulin), etc. and also to articles of gold, alcohol and liqueurs.
Customs Duty Printed papers, especially books, are liable to an internal tax, but newspaper and periodicals are exempt.
Address If the relative postcode is known, it should appear in the address of all postal items at the left-hand side of the name of the place of destination. This should help to ensure a quicker delivery in France.
PARCEL POST

Declarations should show the Post Office serial number of the parcel and should, as far as possible, be prepared in French as well as English
Prohibitions1 Letters; animals and animal products, charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters are admitted but there should be an appropriate indication of the contents on the cover of the parcel); contraceptives; feeding bottles and similar items; funeral urns; saccharin; tobacco essence; and in addition, all goods which do not comply with the requirements of the (French) Merchandise Marks Act.
Restrictions1 Restrictions apply to the importation of - alcohol and liqueurs; bees; wax and honey; celluloid and films; cut flowers (except flowers and wreaths addressed to British cemeteries); eggs of game birds during close season; fish and games; fresh fruit; fresh vegetables and potatoes, including seed potatoes; gramophone records; leeches; living plants, roots and bulbs; preserved fish, plums and vegetables; shrubs; tobacco products. Information regarding the importation of tobacco, medicines, serum (including insulin) etc gold, silver, platinum and plated articles should be ascertained from the addressee.
Import Licences The importation of certain other goods is subject to the production of an import licence, and such goods should not be despatched until the necessary licence has been obtained by the addressee.
Gift Parcels Gift parcels should not exceed 300 francs in value. Customs charges include V.A.T. up to 30 percent are normally raised on all goods but tobacco, alcohol and books are subject to special charges.
Invoices Invoice will be necessary for commercial parcels of a value greater than 150 French francs and recommended for private parcels. It must compulsorily be attached by the sender.
Delivery Parcels are delivered in all areas. Where they are not delivered an advice of arrival is sent to the addressee.

Declarations should show the Post Office serial number of the parcel and should, as far as possible, be prepared in French as well as English and in accordance with the classification of the French Customs tariff. Weights and measures should be in the metric system.

Restrictions1 Restrictions apply to the importation of cut-flower; eggs of game birds during close season; fish and game; fresh fruit; fresh vegetables and potatoes, including seed potatoes; living plants, roots and bulbs; gramophone records; preserved fish, plums and vegetables; shrubs.
