Australia – Strike

The designated operator of Australia, Australia Post, has advised that staff of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and Department of Agriculture, responsible for overseeing customs clearance at all inbound offices of exchange in Australia, have announced protected industrial action between 26 September and 9 October 2016. This enables staff to walk out for 30 minutes at a time, the length and frequency of the stoppages being at the discretion of the staff.

Australia – Strike

The designated operator of Australia, Australia Post, has advised that the staff union in the Australian public service, which includes the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and the Department of Agriculture, responsible for overseeing customs clearance at all inbound offices of exchange in Australia, have announced that it would ask its members to go on strike on Friday, 9 September 2016. The strike action will lead to delays on all inbound mail on 9 September and in the days following, owing to the backlogs resulting from the delays on the day of the strike.

Italy – Earthquake

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, has advised that the recent 6.0-magnitude earthquake in central Italy has been causing disruption to operations in large areas of the country since 24 August 2016.
